Fay McLean-Chandler - General Secretary 

I got involved with LRHC because my daughter joined the club when she was nine years old. 

The warm, family vibe of the club shone through. I was impressed with how dedicated and hard working the coaches are and wanted to help. 

The first two seasons I volunteered as the fundraising manager and with the support of our members raised £7k. Within this role I had a position on the clubs committee and started to learn what was involved in running a roller hockey club. 

When the clubs previous General Secretary stepped down it was a natural progression to take on the role. I am now in my 2nd season of being the clubs General Secretary. 

My main responsibility is communication and correspondence within the club, maintaining records and administration. Ensuring meetings are effectively organised and minuted.  

I am also Eastern Counties Roller Hockey associations Vice-president. 

I am keen to build on the clubs fantastic previous achievements and the clubs ethos. 

I would like the club to have the biggest player membership in the country, we are well on our way to this with 9 teams this season 22/23. I am grateful to our members stepping up and taking on roles to support this growth. 

I would love Roller hockey to be available to all and am proud the club is able to offer discounted membership to disadvantaged families, we loan skates and equipment to our new members and through the grants obtained and fundraising we have been able to help goal keepers with their kit costs. 

I would like the club to build on its position within the community. 

I am proud of the fundraising we have done for the Garden House Hospice.  

I am also proud of the work the club has done to recruit and retain female players, we are nearly at 50% of our membership being female and we are part of the 'Play on' initiative. 

I would love to see this filter up regionally and nationally. 

There is a huge opportunity for growth within this area. 

On personal development I would like to increase my knowledge on leading a region and organising inter national competition. I would also like to increase my knowledge on female health and how it affects our female athletes.
